Hi, hello!
Today I am going to share a haul I recently received in the mail this week! Violet Voss Cosmetics had a pre-release for their Holy Grail palette, which has been really highly anticipated in the beauty community. I got my hands on it, along with two liquid lipsticks as I’m always down to try some new lipsticks.
First, let’s discuss the packaging. The Violet Voss Holy Grail palette is sleek and very thin, making it great for travelling. It has a nice feeling to the palette as well! I really like the packaging of the palette to be honest–it is simple and looks classy. In regards to the liquid lipstick, the outside packaging is just so freaking cute. It just looks so pink and girly, I love it! The liquid lipsticks themselves are in a tube that reminds me of Gerard Cosmetics liquid lipsticks–it is in a sturdy tube that has a cloudy look to it, making the tube not exactly clear. It isn’t amazing packaging, but it isn’t bad either.
This palette comes with 20 shades with various formulations from mattes to shimmers. It primarily consists of neutral shades, which is pretty much every beauty junkie’s obsession. The names of the shades are super cute, and the consistency of the palette is really on point and the same across the entire board. I find that in some palettes, certain colours will be nice, and others not so much in terms of pigmentation, but I really think all of these shades blended well and have great pigmentation.
Here are swatches of the palette!

Row 1; Top to Bottom: Crystal, Ploof, Thanks A Latte, Transition, Hashtag

Row 2; Top to Bottom: Awesome Sauce, Bestie, Toffee, Chill, How U Doin

Row 3; Top to Bottom: Bat My Eyes, Cool Beans, R U Kitten Me, So Jelly, On Fleek

Row 4; Top to Bottom: Brownie Points, Teddy Bear, Glamping, Cranberry Splash, Wine N Dine
Overall, I think this palette is definitely worth getting! I really enjoy the colours and it is something I would reach for daily! It may definitely become one of my holy grail palettes 😉 Haha get it?
This palette releases on March 3 at 1pm EST/10am PST on Violet Voss Cosmetics website. If you use the code holygrail10 you can get this palette for $42 USD–regular price is $52 USD–so save yourself some monaaaay!
NOW for the liquid lipsticks. I don’t know about you, but I have super dry lips all the time…which basically means that my lips and liquid lipsticks don’t go to well together. But for some reason, I still feel the need to try every liquid lipstick out there!
I ended up getting two colours, Love Sick (right) and Tryst (left). I kind of bought these on a whim without really knowing exactly how they looked haha. I was in such a rush to get the palette that I literally just added these to my cart and didn’t even consider the colours. I do quite like the colours though, but one definitely looks better on me than the other.
Lovesick (top) is described as a soft nudish lilac, which I would definitely agree! This shade is also a limited edition item, so if this is a colour you gravitate towards, I would pick it up sooner than later.
Tryst (bottom) is described as a nude soft mauve, which is very accurate. Out of the two shades, this one looks better on me in my opinion.

Lovesick (Top), Tryst (Bottom)
When swatching these, I found that when it dried on my wrist, it kind of dried a bit patchy as you can tell above. It also dried in a very strange way, as I feel that certain parts are darker than others, making it look a bit inconsistent.
In terms of wear, I found that these liquid lipsticks dried extremely matte and felt a bit drying on my lips. Over time, it did start feeling a tad uncomfortable and I could definitely feel that I had a product on my lips. It almost felt like dried up paint on my lips to be honest. The longer I wore them, the more uncomfortable I got.
Also, when applying these, I found that it wasn’t as pigmented as I had hoped. I had to put the applicator in the tube a few times and go over my lips about two to three times to get the pigmentation I wanted. I have a freckle on my lip, and with one application I could still see the freckle, which in my opinion means that it applies pretty sheer. The liquid lipsticks also did not have a strong scent which I did appreciate, but had a small hint of that paint/chemical smell. When I say small hint though, I mean barely.
Eventually I was able to build it up to the actual colour I desired, but I had to work with it. I wasn’t really too impressed with these liquid lipsticks. At $12 USD, it isn’t a horrible price, but I don’t think I would purchase this again based on the formula.
To the left I am wearing Lovesick, and to the right I am wearing Tryst.
I think Tryst definitely looks better on me than Lovesick. They are definitely both shades that are popular in the beauty community right now, and I can see these selling especially with people waiting for the Holy Grail palette to release.
What do you think of the Holy Grail palette and these Liquid Lipsticks?
Are you going to pick up the Holy Grail palette?
Love always,
Jess xo.
