I really can’t believe April is just around the corner! It feels as if New Years was just a few weeks ago! Time definitely flies by.
It becomes more evident that time is flying by as I accumulate my favourites of the month as I keep grabbing..and grabbing..until I find myself having so many favourites, it is hard to choose just a few to discuss. I tried to limit my favourites, but hey–a girl has gotta share products she loves, am I right?!
This will likely be a lengthy post, as I really want to give you reasons as to why certain products are my favourites! So keep reading if you are interested! ❤
MannyMUA X Makeup Geek Palette ($45 USD): I have an in depth review that you can find here, but in a nut shell–this palette is AMAZING. It can be used for a soft day look but can easily be amped up to create a smoky and dramatic look. This palette has a combination of matte, shimmery and foiled finishes which makes it great to use on the go, as everything you need will be in one compact palette! Unfortunately, this palette is limited edition, but the site says to stay tuned and sign up for notifications to know when it may be released again.
Hourglass Ambient Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light ($60 CAD, $50 USD): This bronzer makes me feel like a goddess. At the price, it definitely should too! It isn’t cheap BUT I think it is truly worth it. I use this bronzer mainly on days where I want an effortless bronzed look (which is most days, let’s be real). It has luminous light in the bronzer, which is an ambient powder that already exists so it adds depth and dimension along with the bronze reflects. I find I can even use this without applying any blush and such, and I still have a beautiful glow to my face! I really enjoy this product for my lazy and glam days. I’ve had this since August I believe and I’ve barely made a dent in it, so I’d say it is worth the price for the amount I use it. You can purchase this product here.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara ($33 CAD, $26 USD): First off, I want to just note that I RARELY buy high end mascaras. Most of the mascaras I purchase myself are from the drugstore, and I’m perfectly OK with that. I tried this mascara because I got it as a sample from Sephora and I fell in love with it. I haven’t used a mascara in quite some time that gives me long lashes and provides thickness AND holds my curl all day. Applying this is honestly fun because I get to see my lashes grow and I love it! The only downfall to this mascara is that it is not waterproof–so therefore, I have to use another mascara on my bottom lashes. But I think it was worth the investment and one I will continue purchasing! You can find this lovely mascara here.
Jouer Long-Wear Lip Creme Liquid Lipstick in Dulce de Leche ($18 USD): These new Jouer liquid lipsticks are a dream to apply and heavenly to wear. I suffer from dry lips, so the fact that these were comfortable on my lips says a lot. I own five shades in total at the moment, and I actually quite like every shade–Dulce de Leche just happens to be the shade I have gravitated towards more often. I’ve worn this shade wearing just mascara, foundation and some bronzer and I feel like it really adds some natural colour to my lips. This liquid lipstick did not transfer and feels extremely lightweight. I definitely recommend these! Let me know if you would like to see swatches, lip swatches and a review on these! 🙂
L’Oreal Lumi Cushion Foundation in W2 ($20.24 CAD, $16.99 USD): I was extremely skeptical when I bought this product mainly because I haven’t tried anything like it yet. I have to admit, I do not use the applicator it comes with–instead, I use my beauty blender and it works great. This foundation provides a light to medium coverage that gives a very luminous and glowing finish to the skin. This product makes my skin look fabulous all day, and it feels very moisturizing. This is definitely one of my favourite foundations I’ve ever tried from the drugstore!
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer in Light Warm ($35 CAD, $28 USD): I’ve had this concealer for a long time now and it has been used every single day. I use this concealer for my under eyes, and it provides a really beautiful coverage that doesn’t look cakey. It also leaves a very luminous finish to the skin, which looks stunning. I do have to set this concealer as it will crease if I don’t, but that happens with any concealer I use. I’m really curious to try the new Naked concealers geared towards problem areas such as redness, dullness, etc!
Becca Backlight Priming Filter ($46 CAD, $38 USD): If I had to use one word to summarize this primer it would be: radiant. This primer gives an instant glow to the skin that really seeps through into any foundation that is used. As you can tell by the picture above, I am almost done this product and I will absolutely purchase this again. This primer gives a radiant and diffused look to the skin, and I feel like I could even use this without foundation just for a glowy look! I highly recommend trying this primer if you like to look like a radiant goddess!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer in Dark Brown ($30 CAD, $23 USD): I religiously use the Brow Wiz on a daily basis, but I thought I would give the new Brow Definer a try. This month I went back and forth between the two, and I have to say that I love both equally but for different reasons. I find the Brow Wiz I enjoy using when I first get my eyebrows done and I want a sharper look–but I like the Brow Definer for days I am not going for a dramatic look, or times when I should go get my brows done but don’t have time (erm..haha..). I like the Brow Definer as it is thicker and also has an edge to the applicator, which makes it really easy to carve my brow into the desired shape I want. I really enjoy both brow products though and will continue to purchase both.
MAC Cosmetics Powder Blush in Prism ($26 CAD): Oh how I love MAC blushes. If you want to see my MAC collection (blushes..skinfinishes…lipsticks…) let me know! It will be extensive haha! This month I have been using Prism non-stop, which is a dusty pink-brown colour. It is super natural and literally goes with every look! I love using this matte shade and then popping some highlight on my cheekbones. This has definitely been my go to blush in March!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ($70 CAD, $62 USD): If you see me with makeup on, then I have this on! I really only use two out of the three shades in this palette (the one on the left (Dim Light) and in the middle (Incandescent Light-exclusive to palette). I lightly dust the two colours together all over my face, and then I go into the Incandescent shade and use it under my eyes and on my nose. I use a fluffy powder brush so it adds a luminous glow to my face, but I don’t look like a disco ball. I feel that these powders definitely give me an almost airbrushed look to my face once I apply it as it blurs my pores and imperfections and really blends well into any foundation I wear.
Jeffree Star Velour Lip Scrub in Spearmint ($12 USD): This sugar lip scrub is a must have if you are a liquid lipstick lover. What I love about this product is that it is made of natural ingredients that are edible to eat–or you can just wipe it off. I really like the scent of spearmint especially on my lips, so this is a really good product in terms of achieving fresh lips. It really allows you to exfoliate your lips well in preparation of using liquid lipsticks, and I find that it helps the longevity of many liquid lipsticks. I really want to try his other flavours!
Gerard Cosmetics Star Powder in Grace ($29 USD): I have never used any other products from Gerard Cosmetics minus their liquid lipsticks (amazing!) and their lipsticks. I had no idea how any face product would perform from the brand, but oh my. This highlighter is so pigmented, smooth, blendable, AH. It is everything! I really want to get more shades! This colour is pretty light I must admit, so I have to use a very light hand. I think this product will last such a long time too, as a lot of product comes in it!
MAC Cosmetics Prep and Prime Fix + in Rose: I wish I could tell you beauties this is available but it is not…I’m so sorry! I tried to not mention any favourites that aren’t accessible for all of y’all but I have been using this almost everyday! I love the regular Mac Fix + as it does the same thing as this product, the only difference is the rose scent. I am a sucker for anything rose scented. If you want to just try the Mac Fix + for a refreshing makeup mist, you can go here and purchase the regular version!
Philosophy Purity Made Simple: I got this product from Sephora to just test it out to see if I liked it, and I truly do! I’ve heard a lot of hype about this one step cleanser, and to be honest, when it comes to skincare I’m not too experienced. But this definitely works! I usually take my makeup off before this, and this product gets rid of any excess product I may have missed and cleans my face extremely well. I feel really refreshed when I use it! I’m not sure if this smaller size is available for purchase, as on Sephora I only saw the 3 ounce size! But you can click here if you are interested in a bigger size, as I know I will get one once my mini Purity is used up!
Tatcha Luminous Overnight Memory Serum Concentrate ($110 USD ): OH MY GOODNESS I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. I know the price is a bit hefty but it is so worth it, I promise you! I have normal to dry skin, and this moisturizes my face like no other product has before. I put this on before bed and I wake up with refreshed skin that still feels really hydrated. I have a full review here if you would like to check it out! The gel like texture is really awesome, and it honestly gives me a great glow to my face. If I don’t use this I really notice a difference in my skin. I’ve tried going back to my regular Aveeno, and it really wasn’t cutting it compared to this beauty! I am so in love with it!
Pantene Pro-V Expert Collection Intense Smooth Shampoo & Conditioner: I got the opportunity to try these two products out, and they are great! I did notice a difference in terms of my hair feeling smooth and also hydrated. I found the most difference when I braid my hair at night when it is still wet (my lazy days!) and I think this decreased my frizz. I do have bad frizzy hair (trust me on this one..you don’t want to see it) so I still had a bit of frizz, but this product definitely helped minimize it. I also find once I’ve blowdried my hair, it is less frizzy which is awesome! I really like how it also makes my hair feel silky smooth! You can find this product at your local drugstore.
Phew. That was a lot of favourites haha! I hope you all enjoyed reading my extremely long favourites for March!
