|A Week of Events| Katy Perry X Covergirl, NYX Prom, Generation Beauty!

Hi, hello!

I hope you have all been doing well!

I had the pleasure of attending quite a few events this week, all for different brands! I had an amazing time at all three events and I would love to share my experiences and pictures with you 🙂

KATY X COVERGIRL ~ Toronto Launch

I was so excited to attend this event, as I really enjoy Katy Perry as an artist. Her songs are always super catchy! When I heard she was coming out with her own line of lipsticks through Covergirl, I was ecstatic. I think the colours she chose really brings out different sides of her personality, and you can really tell that she worked hard on picking certain colours and their creative names. All of the shades have a demi-matte finish, which is matte but has nourishing ingredients that does not dry out your lips as much. It is really the best of both worlds, in my opinion! No one wants overly dried lips, which tends to happen with most matte lipsticks. When wearing these, it felt very moisturizing and comfortable!

What I loved about the event is that her lipsticks each had its own station with the colour on display and various decorations. Each of the stations looked so beautiful–I honestly was tempted to pick up each shade and take it home with me!

There were awesome photo stations and we also got to try the lipsticks on for ourselves! I had the pleasure of getting my lipstick applied by Veronica Chu, a makeup artist and hair stylist, who also happens to be a Covergirl spokesperson. She is amazingly talented and I am so grateful to have met her! 🙂

Thank you so much Beauty United for inviting me to this event! I had a blast! ❤

#NYXClassOf2016 Prom

This event was held in Toronto as a welcoming to the new Eaton Centre NYX store! I have gone to the NYX store in Mississauga quite a few times, and it is awesome that another one has opened up!

The event was also supporting The New Circles Prom Project, which helps students facing economic stress by providing them with a lightly used prom dress! I think it is a great cause! I donated a sparkly silver dress–and I hope someone falls in love with it as much as I did! 🙂

I love how black and pink literally surrounded the entire event- there were games, drinks, music, and so many awesome photos we could take! I really enjoyed my time at the event–it was definitely more of a chilled vibe where people could really talk to one another and enjoy each other’s company.

The night was filled with people chatting, eating, drinking and some dancing too! I had a really nice time, and it was evident that a lot of other people did as well! I also got to look at some NYX makeup while chatting with others, which was great! I was in a nice dress with swatches of makeup on my hand still hahah…the addiction is real!

Our goodie bag was also amazing! We received a backpack that had NYX cosmetics on it, so needless to say I am in love with it! We also got a huge makeup palette consisting of blushes, bronzers, highlighters and eyeshadows! It was such a generous gift bag for everyone! In the backpack, there was also a colouring book with popular YouTubers and such, along with colouring pencils. How adorable and on trend!

Thank you so much NYX Cosmetics!

Generation Beauty ~ Toronto

It was so fun being able to go to the first Generation Beauty event in Toronto! It was so exciting to be in a room filled with makeup addicts like myself! I brought my sister along and we had an awesome time bonding…and also waiting in lines haha. It was a great experience, but the line ups were SO long. We waited almost 2 hours in the Too Faced line which was crazy!

Some booths were worth the wait, whereas some weren’t I must admit. Overall though, I had a great two days–and my feet were very sore! Haha.

One of the most exciting booths was the Too Faced booth, despite the wait. They gave out a full size tube of the new Born This Way concealer which hasn’t even been released yet. I thought that was really awesome! There was also a really cool coconut tree (inspired by the ingredients in Born This Way concealer I assume, as it is made from coconut water!) and we got a prize based on whichever coconut came down stating the Too Faced prize. I got a deluxe version of the Melted Lipsticks which was awesome! 🙂

Smashbox was also a booth that was extremely generous..we got a mascara along with a tube that came with one of their primers inside. I was SO thrilled to get the hydrating primer as it is one of my favourites! It was a full sized tube as well, which retails for $50 in Canada…so I thought that was such a generous gift!

Essence gave out a lipstick but has a 5 for $15 deal going on, so I decided to take up the offer as there wasn’t a bunch of makeup to buy at the event anyways! I picked up a few brushes too since the prices were so affordable!

The Ipsy bag for day one was also pretty generous–some were items I already had, and some were exciting. A few of the samples were the kind I could get from Sephora for free which wasn’t too thrilling, but we did get a few full sized items too which made up for it!

One of the perks of the event was definitely spending time with my sister and trying out different products together. I also met Samantha (Instagram: @mybeautyfavs) which was awesome! (second pic from the left!) I’ve been following her for quite some time and we have chatted a lot as well so it was amazing to have met her in person! If you aren’t following her already, you definitely should–she has an amazing makeup collection and is such a great and genuine person! ❤ Samantha, if you are reading this, lets get together soon! 🙂

The Makeup For Ever Booth was also amazing! It took about an hour and a half to finally get to the front of the line, but it was well worth it. We got to test out the new eyeliners which let me tell you, are VERY waterproof! We got such a generous bag–a sample of the foundation, makeup cleanser, two full sizes of the new eyeliners and two full sizes of their eyeshadows! The two eyeshadow shads aren’t two I would have picked myself, but I think thats the cool part of it–as I can try different colours I wouldn’t necessarily pay for on my own aha!

At the Tarte station, we received a full size of their new Tarteist mascara, which was cool! I also purchased a lip stain and one of the new lingerie shades, as it was (somewhat) on sale. The Physician’s Formula booth gave out two full sizes of their Insta Ready products, which was awesome! I ended up choosing the BB cream and the bronzing stick! 🙂

Luxie was probably one of my favourite booths as well, and I kind of regret not buying a full set of brushes. They are SO soft and the pink with rose gold detailing is so beautiful!

The left side shows some free samples we got by visiting each booth. I’m excited to try the Dry Shampoo–I’ve never heard of this brand before! I’m also really looking forward to trying the Absolute New York highlighter and lipstick! The picture on the right shows the Ipsy bag for day two that we received! The Caked lotion smells heavenly! Strawberries and cream..yum!

Overall, I had an amazing two days at Generation Beauty! I think there were a few hiccups, but for the first time in Toronto I think it went fairly well! 🙂 I’m really excited to hopefully attend next year!

Thank you so much for reading about my event adventures! If you aren’t following me on Snapchat, make sure you do as I snap my adventures as it is occurring! My snap chat is @xxojess

I hope you have a wonderful week! I’m working on quite a few blog posts, so you will see me soon! 😉

Love always,

Jess xo.

Great review of all the events! Following along with the Katy Perry event looked amazing. I went to NYX prom and Gen beauty too! Both super fun! Wow so you got 2 full sized products at Physicians Formula! I only got the choice of 1!

You had such a fun week filled with amazing events, I’m a little envious. HAHA! I really wanted to attend Gen Beauty but I would have to fly from Vancouver, add in hotel and every other thing it just didn’t make sense. 😦 The perils of living in a small town in Canada, hopefully they’ll consider having one in Vancouver and I might be able to make it….if my little one decides to behave himself and let mummy go. LOL!
