|September Favourites|

Hi, hello!

Oh my goodness, it has been SO long since I’ve made a post yet alone shared some of my favourite items.

Life has been..busy! I’ve started a full time job and I’m (attempting) to adult, although I’m not sure how successful that is going haha! For those who have stayed, thank you! For those who are new…welcome! 🙂

Today I’m going to share some of my September favourites!

I have more favourites over the few months I haven’t posted but I’m hoping to regularly post again so you will definitely see more of my current favourites in the future!

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow 24hr Foundation in 204: If you haven’t tried this foundation…just go. Go to your local drugstore and get this ASAP! I love the matte foundation that came out a while ago, but this one is just simply amazing. It gives a radiant glow and gives great medium to full coverage. I do set this with a translucent powder in my T-zone as I’ve been getting a bit oily lately…but this foundation lasts all day! I ALWAYS get compliments when I wear this foundation so I totally recommend this product especially it is available for a good price.
MAC Cosmetics Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Pressed Powder: This translucent powder was purchased when the Chris Chang collection came out (notice the pretty packaging)! This is a permanent product though so it can be purchased online or at your MAC counter/store, but it will have the regular black packaging. I haven’t really used loose translucent powder yet, but this pressed powder keeps my T-zone from being shiny throughout the day! I like it because I can use it year long as it does not have a shade to it. I haven’t used many translucent powders so I can’t really compare it to others but I’ve really been enjoying it!

Becca Under Eye Brightening Concealer: I’ve always used a lighter concealer under my eyes for a brightening effect, but it has never truly been bright- I’ve noticed that there is still a bit of a dark area under my eyes and I would put more concealer on but it would just look cakey. I went to Sephora to solve my problem and someone recommended the Becca Under Eye Brightening Concealer. It is a salmon/pink colour with a thick consistency but blends out really nicely. The first time I put it on I noticed a difference right away! I use this concealer and then I put my light concealer I usually use (right now it is the Born This Way concealer by Too Faced) and my under eye area looks SOOOO good! If you find your under eye area isn’t very brightening I would totally recommend this!

Beauty Professional Look All-Over Shadow Brush: I really love how this shadow brush fits on my eyelid haha. It sounds weird, but I’m pretty picky when it comes to brushes. This brush really packs on shadow which is something I really love as I don’t have to continuously dip my brush into shadows to get pigmentation. It retails for $10 USD!

#BBYB Makeup Palette: This palette comes with 4 eyeshadows, 2 lipglosses, 1 highlight and 1 bronzer. I have to be honest, I haven’t even touched the lip glosses as I typically don’t use them in palettes..but the eyeshadows and highlight are stunning! As far as the bronzer goes, I would probably only use it as a shadow as it is pretty shimmery and a bit too orange in my opinion. The formula of the shadows are really buttery and gives an instant glow and pigmentation. I’ve included swatches (right picture) of the shadows and highlight/bronzer! I also like how this palette is made with no parabens or talc! Definitely a plus.

PIQUE Tea Crystals: I’ve had the opportunity to test out PIQUE Tea Crystals which was really exciting as I absolutely LOVE tea! These packets make it super easy to have tea on the go and I usually bring them to work with me! The cool thing about these crystals is that all the nutrients in the tea is consumed when drinking it- whereas when we regularly have tea, only about 20% of nutrients are consumed! There is absolutely no sugar in the crystals and it is supposed to help your metabolism and aid weight loss. I can’t really speak for any long term effects, but I honestly love the flavours I’ve tried and enjoy that I don’t have to steep my tea!

NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Sandstorm: This is my perfect nude shade for when I don’t want to really put a lot of effort into my look but I want a little something to show I’m alive (lol). I ALWAYS have this liquid lipstick in my purse as it is truly a true nude and goes with everything! I also really love the formula of these liquid suede lip creams. They do transfer a little bit but they are super comfortable and long wearing!

bareMinerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor in Icon: I really like the mousse-y formula of this lip colour! I tend to enjoy more moisturizing liquid lipsticks as my lips are always dry! I do need to re-apply this after I eat but I think it is worth it as the colour is really gorgeous and the formula feels so nice!

Uni Organics Perfectly Clean Daily Cleanser: One of the things I love about this cleanser is that it feels like it is doing something! It also doesn’t leave my skin dry whatsoever which is something I’ve suffered from with other products. It is made with a lot of natural ingredients and is also an organic product! I use this regularly in my skin care routine and I’ll definitely have to purchase another one!

Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in 05 Deep: What was I doing without this? I love this coloured gel as it keeps my brows in place all day! I don’t use this alone though- I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz or Brow Definer with it and they work together like a dream. I love how small wand is! I bought the Anastasia Beverly Hills gel in the past and the wand was way too big! This small applicator definitely helps define my brows more.

Makeup For Ever Step 1 Skin Equalizer Primer (Smoothing): When wearing foundation, I would notice that my foundations would always break out on my nose…and this would happen with every foundation! It was so irritating- so I went to Sephora and asked someone what I should do. I was recommended this Makeup For Ever primer to use around my nose to help with my pores. Obviously I need to do something about these pores haha but this primer definitely helps minimize them! My foundation no longer breaks up when I use this primer so basically it is a life saving product! It is a bit pricey to only use around my nose area but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in 01 Highlight: Why is does this product even have the word ‘matte’ in it? It isn’t matte at all, but it is definitely a highlight…probably one of my favourite highlights EVER! This is my go to highlight and it comes with me even when I’m travelling despite the chunky packaging. It gives such a gorgeous glow…I honestly cannot even describe it. It still looks very natural yet I feel like I’ve been kissed by an angel. Kathleen Lights always talks about it so after hearing her recommend it for the 100th time, I splurged. I was hesitant at first, and when I first swatched it I was like ‘eh okay..its nice I guess’. But when I applied it my life changed forever. Just try it!
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette: Do I even need to comment? This palette is LIFE. So.Many.Warm.Tones. Can’t breathe. This palette has kicks up A LOT of powder which may seem alarming buuuut it blends like a dream, thankfully. I have SO many palettes yet I use this one all the time and I even want to get a backup because I know I will one day hit pan and cry.

NYX Ombre Blush in Mauve Me: Perfection…absolute perfection. I love swirling my blush brush to blend these two colours together. I am definitely a mauve lover, so this blush gets a lot of use. I love how it is so wearable and pigmented! This blush has some shimmer to it but is very subtle!

Thank you soo much for reading about my favourites!

Please make sure you comment below and let me know what you’ve been loving in the month of September 🙂

Love always,

Jess xo.

Note: Some items have been sent to me for review, but all opinions are my own.

I really want to try the Bare Minerals Matte lips. I always swatch them in Sephora but can never choose a shade! Ugh! the struggles! I enjoyed reading your faves 🙂

I was tempted to purchase Modern Renaissance but changed my mind at the end because I was convince that I will not get much use out of it. Now that I have tried Master Palette by Mario, I know that I need to add Modern Renaissance into my collection! And many seems to love Sandstorm, I have Soft Spoken which is the perfect nude on me but now I’m tempted to pick up Sandstorm too.

Been really wanting to go and pick up the Infallible ProGlow Foundation…I’ve heard such amazing things about it…and I also love the ProMatte Foundation they have. I have oily/comb skin though but I have seen that a lot of the youtubers I watch that are oily have raved about it too. The Pique tea crystals look pretty cool…I’ll have to look into that and try it out. Love the shade Sandstorm in the NYX liquid suede…!! Soft spoken is a fav of mine as well…but I feel like the formula kinda balls up on the sides of my mouth…do you have that issue? I really enjoy the formula of the Bareminerals GenNude Matte Liquid lips too!! I got JUJU. & i absolutely love the modern renaissance pallete it is such an amazing palette.
