|Event & Summer/Spring Collection| Essence Cosmetics

Hi, hello!

I hope you have all been well!

I’m super excited to share Essence’s new Summer and Spring 2017 Collection with all of you!

I had the opportunity to attend the Essence Rock N’ Doll event, which featured the new products that will be hitting shelves! From eyes, cheeks, lips, and face, there is something fabulous for everyone! πŸ™‚

The event was located in Toronto, and there were so many fun things to do and see– there was a makeup station, nail station, food, drinks, and a whole bunch of products to test out! I loved the event theme and how everything had a rock n’ roll vibe to it from the decor to the actual makeup items and food!

I’m super stoked to show you some of Essence’s new products along with some swatches and my thoughts so far on some of the new additions! πŸ™‚

Rock N’ Doll Mascara ($4.99 CAD): This mascara is intended to make your eyes more voluminous and give you an ‘eye opening’ effect. It also has a curved brush, which I tend to like in mascaras!

Rock N’ Doll Crazy XXL Volume Mascara ($4.99 CAD): One of my favourite Essence products is their pink I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara–so if this one is anything like that, I know it will definitely be a new fave! This mascara has an asymmetrical brush–which i’m honestly not sure what the benefit of it is supposed to be but I’m really excited to try it out!

Contouring Eye Pencil ($4.49 CAD): This double eye pencil can be useful for so many things! For such a great price, it can be used as an eyeliner, to brighten your look, to highlight your brow bone, as an eye shadow…I love all the possibilities! This product also comes in two shades, and the one I have is the lightest one!

The False Lashes Mascara Dramatic Volume Unlimited ($4.99 CAD): Anything that has ‘false lashes’ in the name, I am instantly intrigued! This mascara is supposed to give you a lot of volume, which is something I most definitely need!

The False Lashes Mascara Extreme Volume and Curl ($4.99 CAD): This mascara looks a bit more appealing to me because it is supposed to give you volume AND curl! I would say the performance of this mascara was pretty mediocre, and it did smudge a bit but I do tend to tear a lot throughout the day.

All About Toffee Eyeshadow Palette ($5.99 CAD): This new palette is an addition to the four palettes that exist already – but this one definitely gives off a cooler and smokier vibe! The finishes range from matte, satin and metallic and are all super pigmented and absolutely stunning! The swatches (to the left above) are all without a primer — if a primer is used, it is super buildable!

Smokey Eyes Set ($3.99 CAD): This eyeshadow trio is described as ‘smokey rose’. There is a gorgeous mauve shade, a matte white shade and a really stunning bronze colour. I definitely think this trio is really nice quality – I have really been into mauve shades lately, so this is for sure something up my alley I would use frequently!

Make Me Brow Jumbo Eyebrow Pencil ($3.99 CAD): This brow pencil comes in two shades and is supposed to have a matte texture. I haven’t tried these yet, but I personally tend to prefer smaller brow pencils to get a precise line!

Eyebrow Gel Colour & Shape ($4.99 CAD): This waterproof gel liner actually really excites me! I have the black liner and I actually really like it! I think the price is right and it also is super pigmented. I’m trying to master the wing so hopefully this liner will help do the trick!

Make Me Brow Duo Eyebrow Powder ($4.49 CAD): This sheer coverage eyebrow powder comes in two shades – I have the darkest one. I used powder a lot more when I first started getting into makeup and it gives a really nice and soft finish to your look in comparison to a pencil.

Eyebrow Designer ($2.49 CAD): This pencil comes in four shades. I have the darkest shade I believe and it is nice, although I am not a huge fan of the brush that comes with it. It is pretty soft and I feel it doesn’t really do anything haha. This isn’t any Anastasia Brow Wiz by any means, but it is for sure a standard eyebrow pencil.

Blogger Beauty Secrets Palette The Glow Must Go On – Bronzing and Highlighting Palette ($9.99 CAD): This palette definitely gives you an amazing glow! It is mixed with highlights and bronzers, although I do feel it would work better as a bronzer rather than highlight because some of the shades are a bit darker. There are two shades I could use as a highlight but the rest would definitely be bronzers! This palette was created by an international blogger, Serena of BeautyLab! There are also some eyeshadows included in the palette for some added definition to your look πŸ˜‰ I love how this palette looks – it is so creative and pretty!

Super Precise Eyeliner ($3.99 CAD): OK but like when they named this precise, they were not lying! If you look at the picture above, you’ll see just how precise this bad boy is! I am EXTREMELY intrigued! This is also a waterproof formula, which I am definitely a fan of! πŸ™‚

Rock N’ Doll Duo Stylist Eyeliner ($3.99 CAD): This liner has a ball end to it, intended to make a cat eye easier…I haven’t tried this yet but I am really interested to see if it actually helps!

Long Lasting Lip Liner ($2.99 CAD): Ahh I cannot say enough good things about Essence’s lip liners! They are creamy, smooth to apply and are super pigmented! They have recently come out with a new shade, which is Be A Game-Changer (#11). This lip liner is also available in 9 various shades – my favourite has got to be their nude lip liner for sure!

Satin Touch Blush ($3.99 CAD): YOU NEED THESE IN YOUR LIFE!! If there is anything I recommend most from this post, it is the satin blushes!!! ❀ ❀ Satin Love (top swatch) and Satin Coral (bottom swatch) are both pigmented, blendable, creamy, just…everything! Satin Love is definitely my all time favourite and it is a shade of blush that could easily go with any look! This is a total winner in my books and I knew as soon as I saw it, it was love! I also really love the pattern of these blushes – they have cute lil’ dots and textures on it!

Bloggers Beauty Secret Palette Shape & Shadows ($9.99 CAD): This palette was also created by an international blogger, Strikeapose. This palette features eyeshadows intended to contour tour eyes, along with some eyebrow powders and way to keep your brows in perfect shape! It also comes with a pretty good brush (much better than the ones that usually come with palettes!) Β The packaging and mirror are also super cute!

Shape Your Face Contouring Palette ($6.99 CAD): This matte trio includes a bronzer, highlight and blush and comes in two different colours. This palette unfortunately doesn’t appeal to me too much only because the blush isn’t a shade I personally use on an everyday basis! I could use the middle highlight to set my under eyes or something, but it doesn’t stand out to me too much. The other trio includes a coral blush which I prefer!

Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette ($6.99 CAD): This trio is super pretty! The shades really brighten up your face and allow you go glow within! I really like the three shades included and I honestly could mix them all together as well! One of the shades is a bit darker for my skin tone but maybe mixing it as I mentioned would work!

img_3585

2 in 1 Eyeshadow & Primer ($5.49 CAD): I personally love eye primers that have coverage and this 2 in 1 is exactly that! This product comes in two shades, one more pink toned and one yellow. My personal favourite is the yellow shade as my skin complexion is more golden so it really brightens up my eyes and covers any dark veins or discolouration on my eyelids!

Colour Correcting Mattifying Powder ($4.49 CAD): This powder is a super cool concept – it includes pink, green, beige colour correcting colours to even out skin tone and provide a matte finish to your skin! I’m really excited to see if this balances out my complexion! I can see this being a good beginner product for someone who wants to colour correct a bit, but

…All I Need Concealer Palette ($6.99 CAD): I’m pretty new with colour correcting, so I’m stoked to have received this palette! It includes various creamy colour correcting shades to help conceal problem areas like dark circles and redness.

img_3584

The Gel Nail Polish ($2.99 CAD): The Essence gel nail polishes are SO good! I’m not one who loves doing my nails, so at such an affordable price and good quality polish that doesn’t hurt my wallet, I’m all in! There are 33 shades and the four pictured are new shades available now! From left to right:My Hula Hoop (82), Β Pretty Cool Life (83), Perfect Match (75), My Sparkling Darling (86).

img_3616

Matt, Matt, Matt Lipstick ($4.49 CAD): These gorgeous lipsticks are meant to provide an opaque and full coverage look with moisture but appear matte at the same time. The colours in this collection are gorgeous and I love how the packaging reflects the colour of the shades! These lipsticks range in 8 different colours – I have 7 to share with you. The first two shades are definitely my favourites! Swatches from top to bottom: 01, 02, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08.

What are your thoughts on the new Essence products? Which stand out to you?

    What an awesome event!
I’ve started to see all those new mascaras in the Essence stands. I was curous about them!
And ooh the trio eye shadow set is stunning!
Also that bronzing / highlighting palette – wow. I could even see myself using those shades as eye shadows.
And ok. I will get those blushes, just because you use ALL CAPS. ❀ XD

I really need to revisit Essence as a brand, it’s been almost a year since I bought anything other than Make Me Brow from them and I know they have some amazing products. Looks like they have some really cool and fun new releases, Jess!
