I hope you have all been well! I’ve been working super hard at some of my New Years Goals I indicated earlier in January on my blog. Some have been more successful than others, but I’ve truly been working on bettering my skincare routine and managing my body a bit better!
I’m super excited to share my skincare routine with you today along with some of my favourite items that really have me excited for the new spring season. There is something about a new season that just opens up more dedication to change!
My skincare routine is no where near perfect yet, and I’m enjoying switching up different products weekly to give my skin different treatments such as exfoliation, hydration and so on!
I first typically remove my makeup everyday with a micellar water – lately I’ve been using the Garnier Waterproof Micellar Water and I think its been working OK so far. I enjoy Bioderma as well, which I think I’ll go back to once my Garnier is finished. When I travel, I tend to use some makeup remover wipes, like the Olay Daily Clean Wet Cleansing Cloths* – I also use these all the time to remove my arm swatches hehe!
I have been absolutely OBSESSED with the REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk! I used to swear by Philosophy’s Purity, but I found it dried out my skin a bit. A Sephora employee recommended this for my dry, sensitive and eczema skin and I am so thankful she introduced me to this life changing product! It smells great and is super hydrating and I’ve noticed a huge difference in my skin when cleansing it.
For those who don’t know me well, one thing you’ll find out quickly is that I am CRAZY for anything rose scented! When I smelled this Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner and found out there was actual rose petals inside, I instantly bought this online! This toner has literally changed my life. My skin is way more clear than it was before. I honestly never used a toner until recently (gasp, I know) but now that its a part of my routine, I can’t see myself without it!
I’ve been beginning to use the new Milk Makeup Matcha Cleanser and Toner. The asian in me needed this because of the matcha lol! These would be perfect for travelling and I’ve been using this once a week in lieu of the other cleanser and toner just for a change. The cleanser also has some exfoliating benefits from it which I enjoy!
Once I have finished toning my skin, I let it sink in for a few minutes and then put on my Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream. This cream is (expensive) but very luxurious and makes my skin feel like a baby’s butt. Even when I wake up, I can feel my skin being more soft and hydrated! (Did I also mention I love the rose scent? hehe).
Afterwards, I use the Tatcha Deep Hydration Firming Eye Serum*. I honestly never used an eye serum or cream before a year ago because I didn’t see the point- but once I started getting eczema around the corners of my eyes, I realized how delicate my eye area really was and that I should take care of it. This product is super expensive, but my eczema has actually been getting better. I enjoy the soothing feeling of this eye serum under my eyes at night, and will definitely keep up taking care of my eye area! ❤
Throughout the past few months, I’ve also been trying to improve my smile as I mentioned I wanted to work on in my previous New Years blog post. I’ve been using these Crest 3D White Strips* weekly, which I think is slowly improving the whiteness of my teeth. I had little to no irritation on my gums (which some people have mentioned they experience) and if anything, I was just dumb at putting them on, but with a few times practice, it now works fine!
I’ve been trying really hard to hydrate my hair this spring, and I’ve been doing that with Herbal Essence’s Hydrate Coconut Milk Shampoo & Conditioner!* These products are suuuuper hydrating, and to be honest Herbal Essences sometimes dries my scalp but this product really works wonders!
I’ve also been trying the new Pantene Dry Shampoo*, as I heard Tati from Glam Life Guru really enjoys this product. I would say it works really well and the thing I enjoy about this dry shampoo is that there is no white remains from the product left in my hair. I always hate shaking it out with my super dark roots, so no white-ness is a positive for me!
I’ve been obsessed with trying new body soaps and Olay is one of my go to brands just because their body washes are so hydrating! I’ve also been loving Le Petit Marseillais, a brand from France that is now sold within Canadian stores! Their natural but refreshing scents can either pick me up when I’m tired, or make me sleepy depending on the scent I choose, so I love switching my body soaps around regularly! My favourite scent so far is the Vanilla Milk as its sooo soothing!
A really fun tool I’ve begun to implement into my daily skincare routine is the 7 in 1 Facial Massager and Cleanser* by Grace & Stella, that comes with seven different heads and various settings to really cleanse and exfoliate your face! Most of these facial massagers are triple the price, whereas this one was affordable and worked well.
