Hi, hello!
I hope you have all been lovely! Today I am so excited to continue my ‘Is It Worth It? Let Me Work It!’ series with y’all as its been a hot minute since I’ve reviewed a popular item like this one! The Natasha Denona Sunset palette consists of 15 shades, all ranging from matte, metallic, duo-chrome and ‘chroma crystal’ finishes (whatever chroma crystal is – unless you know and I’m just dumb heh).
I feel like everyone has been raving over really warm toned shades lately, so this palette has been selling like hot cakes. I have to say, out of all Natasha Denona palettes, this one enticed me to purchase it even despite the steep price point. This palette costs $166 CAD which literally makes me want to cry.
This palette was inspired by an actual sunset WoOo AwW….a very expensive sunset indeed. You’ll see with my swatches though that this palette really is no joke. The pigmentation rocks this world and I’m in awe with the looks you can create with it!
This palette truly looks stunning from the outer packaging to the shades inside. I knew from the moment I swatched these bad boys that this palette would be worth it for me! There are shades I would use all the time, and others that go out of my comfort zone like that bright matte yellow. I love palettes that have wearable shades but also include pops of colour for those who feel adventurous and want to experiment with colour.
The palette comes with a permanent flap that states the name of the shades. Personally, I think I’d rather just have the shade name under the actual shadow versus this little piece of plastic as I feel it just gets in the way if anything.
From top to bottom ; row 1:
- Atmosphere (metallic)
- Sinai (matte)
- Ice Gold (chroma)
- Mandarine (duo-chrome)
- Bronzage (chroma)
From top to bottom ; row 2:
- Vulcano (matte)
- Aubade (chroma)
- Horizon (matte)
- Sundazed (chroma)
- Terra (matte)
From top to bottom ; row 3:
- Bermuda (matte)
- Morgana (duo-chrome)
- Panjin (matte)
- Igneous (matte)
- Sol (matte)
One interesting note about the formula is that the mattes aren’t very buttery – in fact, when touching them, they feel pretty dry. I found them to still blend out really nicely though! I really enjoy the ‘chroma’ finish some of these shades provide – I find they work best with my fingertips though but a brush could work okay as well!
My favourite shades in this palette would have to be Mandarine, Bermuda, and Morgana! I found the duo-chrome shade Morgana to appear super interesting and I could see myself using this on a very consistent basis!
So…is it worth it? I would say yes! I like splurging on makeup and I think this is one of the times it is appropriate to. Realistically, you are getting a lot of shadow and for the price, it comes to about $8 per shadow, which isn’t too bad! I would say if you are into warm tones, try this palette out and treat yo’ self!
Are you going to take the plunge? Is it worth it? Will YOU work it? 😉
Love always,
Yes! It’s totally worth it Jess! I absolutely love these tones and the formula is 100! Beautifully captured and I agree, the matte shades are not as buttery as expected but still blend very well!

I want this but my wallet says noooooo! It’s way too pricey for me and I would need to save up for months in order to get it. 😦

Its so pricey gaaaaah…..but if I’m going to spend a lot of money on a palette, it would be one with these kind of warm tones for sure!

Yep, that’s one pricey palette. It’s very beautiful and I love the colors so much but it wasn’t screaming my name. Not so much because of the price to me honest but because I’m not one for these really large palettes. They’re just not really my first choice but nonetheless, I love the tones and how it looks. I have one of her smaller palettes with I believe 5 shades and I love it so much. Great review! x
