I hope you’ve all been doing well! I’m here to share my thoughts and swatches of the new Kylie Cosmetics x Kim Kardashian West collaboration! Kylie Cosmetics released four stunning limited edition shades that has gorgeous packaging along with a new creme formula. Side note, I’ve also been doing many ‘Is It Worth It? Let Me Work It’ series on here- if its getting old, let me know aha!
The formula off the spot is completely different than the rest of Kylie’s previous liquid lipsticks. These are definitely creamy, almost to the point where they are like a gloss though. These applied a tad streaky but if I have a lip colour under it then it is fine.
I personally hate really drying liquid lipsticks, so these work for me on top of the drying lipsticks I have. These are therefore more of an addition to a lip look. I don’t tend to wear these on its own, but it creates a creamy and comfortable formula when mixed with other liquid lipsticks.
There is also no scent to these liquid lipsticks. They literally smell like nothing. Some may like this, but I personally like that sweet scent Kylie provides in her other liquid lipsticks!
Eventually these liquid lipsticks dry to a soft matte finish- I wouldn’t say they are completely matte whatsoever though.
From top to bottom:
- Kimberly: This is my favourite shade out of the four that were released. It is a true nude shade that I tend to wear on top of almost all my drying liquid lipsticks lately and it provides a softer shade and more comfort on my lips. This one I also like wearing by itself if I want a really natural look!
- Kim: This is my least favourite shade, only because coral shades aren’t really my thing. It definitely livens up my look but there’s just something about it that’s too peachy for me to enjoy.
- Kiki: Kiki is my second most worn shade – it is a neutral pink nude that is also very natural and effortless. This shade provides just the right amount of colour to a settle look!
- Kimmie: This is the one shade I enjoy wearing by itself. It is pigmented and is definitely more noticeable. Its more of a rosey-nude, and reminds me of her velvet shades a bit!
Overall, I think these all provide a settle colour to your lips. These aren’t really game changers in my opinion, nor do I think you must get them – they compliment my look, but by no means do they make it.
I’ll continue to use these as a topper but won’t necessarily miss them if I don’t!
What are your thoughts on the collaboration? Are they a hit or miss in your opinion?
