Hi, hello!
I hope you’ve all been well! Personally, I feel like I’ve been in quite the funk lately. Not just lately, actually, but for quite some time. I feel like my mood keeps going up and down rapidly…not too sure the reasoning behind it. Sigh.
Today I’m going to be sharing my thoughts and swatches on the new Becca Cosmetics Light Chaser Highlighters! I was really excited for this to release as I adore Becca highlights and they’ve been really doing well with their collections lately. I haven’t heard too much about these highlights, so when I bought them I kind of just chose what I thought and hoped for the best! I ended up returning one only due to the shade and it being too dark for me.
I purchased 5 out of the 6 shades available (lol) because I’m just an addict and felt I needed them all at 3am when they released HAHA. The first thing I noticed with these new kaleidoscope highlighters is the size–they are much smaller than your typical highlighters from Becca. I’d say these were about the size of the Becca blushes for reference.
These highlighters are meant to have ‘kaleidoscope pearls’ to them, reflecting one of their permanent shades with another dimension. I definitely agree with this claim – the highlights have this duo-chrome finish that you can only see when moving, which made this review a bit tough to truly capture the beautiful essence these highlighters convey.
One thing I like about this collection off the bat is its versatility to various skin tones. There are a few in this collection that are too dark for me personally, but would look absolutely radiant on someone with a darker complexion. I like how they have something for everyone! π
These highlighters cost $41 CAD on Sephora – some are sold out, but some are still available! Hopefully they will be restocking soon.
Opal Flashes JadeΒ
- Opal + Teal Sapphire Shift
This highlighter kind of reminds me of blue brown pigment from MAC, but face version lol! I absolutely loooove the idea of this although I feel like I need to use a light hand or be a bit more tanned to pull this off. I love how unique this is as a highlight though, and definitely stands out! This shade was hard to capture in a picture (they all were, really) but this is definitely one of the shades you should check out as its super cool!
Amethyst Flashes Geode
- Lavender + Garnet Shift
This shade would be SOOOO stunning on someone with a darker complexion! Like so, so nice. Unfortunately, this is the shade I returned only due to the fact that I didn’t know what to do with it due to my complexion. I guess I could have tried it as a blush topper, although I doubt I would really use it to its full potential. This shade has some purple in it, some pink and orange almost that shifts when you move. It is so beautiful and if you are of a darker skin tone, I would definitely recommend this one! π
Champagne Dream Flashes BelliniΒ
- Peach + Rose Gold Shift
This shade was more subtle than the rest I found. When applying this shade, I had to pack it on to notice a big reflection of the rose gold and peach but also at the same time I like to look like aluminium foil haha! I was a bit disappointed as Becca’s highlights are usually pretty BAM in my opinion, but this one was more soft. This is definitely a nice shade though and one I am happy to have in my collection.
Pearl Flashes Gold
- Pearl + Gold Shift
This highlighter definitely shifts yellow and gold! It is pretty vibrant and would definitely be noticeable if worn. This is a shade I haven’t personally tried on my cheekbones but have only swatched on my wrist. I’m not a huuuge fan of gold to be honest – I always prefer more of the silver/pink undertones in highlights so this is one I would definitely be going out of my comfort zone if I wore it!
Rose Quartz Flashes Seashell
- Rose + Hot Pink Shift
This highlighter is probably one of my favourites out of the collection. I love the rose quartz with the hot pink shift – it is just enough to really brighten up my cheekbones and give it a pop! When I first apply it, it looks pretty settle, but when I move my face its like OH, HELLO! π As I mentioned previously, these are the kind of shades I gravitate towards anyways, so I knew this would likely be a winner!
I’m very curious to hear other people’s opinions on these – I personally quite like these highlighters but at the same time I don’t think they are a MUST. As mentioned, I do really like the Rose Quartz Flashes Seashell shade and I do think Opal Flashes Jade is really unique! Those would likely be my two recommendations out of the bunch π
What do you think? Did you pick any of these up? π
Love always,
They look so pretty!

I didn’t get any of these mainly because I have way too many powder highlighters and I’m not into the kaleidoscope trend. I’ve also read about the smaller pan size, I wonder why they do that fully knowing some will not be happy and call them out on it.

So many highlighters! Wow! Rose Quartz Flashes Seashell is probably my favourite of these. Opal Flashes Jade is so interesting looking – might be nicer for an eye shadow though.
