I hope you’ve all been well. To be honest, my mental health hasn’t been that great lately. My depression and anxiety have been suffering and I’m not totally sure why. I’ve definitely been in a slump lately.
Today I’m here to talk to you about some of my favourite items I’ve been rotating through the past few months! Some have been favourites for a bit, and others are new additions into my collection.
Fresh Rose Face Mask ($30 CAD): This 5-10 minute mask is super hydrating and cleansing! I love using this whenever I can. It is good to use daily, although I usually tend to use it once a week. I did get a smaller version to test it out and I really enjoy it, so once that is through I’ll be buying the full sized version for sure. My face feels very refreshed when I use this, so it will definitely continue being a part of my skincare routine.
Marc Jacobs Beauty O Mega Coconut Bronzer in Tan-Tastic!: OK so I suck for mentioning this because it is limited edition and I don’t believe it is available anymore…BUT it is gorgeous, so if you have it sitting around USE IT! 🙂 It is amazing! It is the perfect shade and isn’t too orange whatsoever.
Tangle Teezer The Original ($20 CAD)*: Oh my GOOOOSH y’all I found my holy grail brushes! I’m SO OBSESSED! So this brush literally detangles every.single.strand. In the past I’ve also used a detangling brush but damn, I really didn’t know what I was missing because this is truly an amazing brush. It even brushed my moms hair effortlessly and her hair is super thick, wavy, and knotty.
Tangle Teezer The Ultimate Professional Finishing Brush ($30 CAD)*: So this hairbrush is intended to be used only on dry hair due to the bristles on the brush – and it is also suited well for hair extensions. This brush worked extremely well, but I would still say The Original is holy grail over this one.
Tangle Teezer Blow Styling Tool ($34 CAD)*: This paddle brush really cuts the time to dry my hair in half! In combination with my blow dryer, it really dries my hair quickly and is less frizzy! I haven’t fully mastered that ‘blow out’ look yet, so I can’t fully state it does that, but it totally is worth it in terms of drying your hair quickly. My hair is super thick and it took less than 4 minutes to blow dry my hair with this tool!
Tarte Tape Shape ($31 CAD): I totally forgot I’ve mentioned this concealer about like a million times, so I won’t go on about it, but if you look at my previous favourites you’ll be able to see how in love I am with this! It is super full coverage and looks amazing under the eyes.
MAC Rose Prep & Prime Fix + ($28 CAD): OK soooo the rose version isn’t available anymore I don’t think, but I’m literally obsessed with anything rose scented — so please leave below your fave rose scented beauty/skincare items!!
L’Oreal Voluminous Original Primer ($6.97 CAD): I’ve been using this white primer before my mascaras for a bit now and I truly feel that it helps make my lashes appear longer and my mascaras even apply better and more voluminous now! This has truly become part of my everyday routine.
Covergirl Vitalist Elixir*: Not only does this foundation look dewy and glowy, it also has skincare benefits AND SPF20! This foundation wears soo well – it can oxidize the tiniest bit throughout the day, but the shade I wear looks fine without having to go lighter :). I 110% recommend this foundation – it really makes me look super radiant. I’m super impressed with this foundation for sure!
Kylie Cosmetics Candy K Liquid Lipstick & KKW Kimberly Creme Liquid Lipstick: I’ve been obsessed with this combo! I’ve been wearing Candy K, letting it dry, and then applying Kimberly on top to provide a more satin texture on my lips. Both of these look so elegant together and is the perfect every day shade!
Jouer Cosmetics Citrine Highlighter ($24 USD): This pale gold highlight is super creamy and blendable on the cheek bones. I’m obsessed with it as it really provides a BAM highlight that I love – cuz I legit like to look like aluminum foil haha.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light ($55 CAD): GAHH you guys…this powder is so amazing! My friend recommended this powder to me after I told her the trio I had from Hourglass was a bit too dull and dark to set with. The moment I set my face with this powder, I knew we were in a committed relationship forever. It honestly brightens my face so nicely and still sets my face yet gives me a radiant look.
MAC Extra Dimension Blushes ($33 CAD): Mmmm these blushes are to die for! I think I bought almost every single shade because…well, have you seen them? They are super pigmented and apply like a dream! I totally recommend you try one of these if you haven’t already. Some of my faves are Faux Sure!, Hushed Tone, Just A Pinch, and Telling Glow.
Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet in Fawn ($38 CAD): I’m really loving liquid lipsticks that dry to a velvet finish lately opposed to mattes where they are super drying. This formula is super comfortable on the lips and Fawn is an effortless beautiful rose shade that is perfect for an everyday look.
Kylie Cosmetics Lip Velvets ($27 USD): I’m obsessed with this formula! Kylie definitely did right with these velvets. I hope she comes out with some more nude shades, but I love how these glide on and don’t dry the lips at all! I totally recommend them! My favourites at the moment are Charm, Harmony, and Rosie.
Olay Luminous Brightening and Protecting Lotion with Sunscreen ($26.99 US)*: I’m loving this lotion because it truly makes me look luminous when applied. I’ve been using this before I apply makeup and it gives me a really nice glow! It also has SPF 30 in it, which is awesome as I really don’t use enough sunscreen in my routine. I also find it nice and hydrating, yet light which is super important to me as I hate super thick moisturizers when I’m about to put on my makeup.
Olay Fresh Outlast Purifying Body Soap (5.99 US)*: I basically love Olay body washes- they all smell so yummy and they cleanse my body really well! I love this scent that includes lavender, as I like showing before I go to bed and this scent just soothes me 🙂 I’m craving to try their mango and white ginger soap along with their peach scent too!
Last but not least, I thought I would begin to include candles I’ve been loving! Currently, I’ve been really adoring Blushing Pink Rose Petals by Bath and Body Works! Are you even surprised though, as this whole post has been me saying I love anything rose scented LOL.
One item I wanted to mention that I’ve been using everyday is the new L’oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara! I’m unfortunately a dummy and forgot to take a picture of it, but I’ve been using this product non-stop! It provides the perfect amount of length and volume – it does everything I look for in a good mascara! 🙂 I highly recommend checking it out!
