Hi, hello ❤
I hope you all have been well. I’ve personally been taking more ‘me’ time lately which has been nice but cannot last forever aha.
I went on a mini vacation for a few days, so I apologize that my July Favourites are coming to you a bit late, but nonetheless these are some items I have been absolutely loving this month!
Living Proof Straight Spray ($38 CAD): When I first purchased this spray, I thought it would be a bit of a gimmick, but to be honest I feel as if my hair is actually more straight because of this product! It is a heat activating and heat protecting spray, and I find it really smooths out the random curls I have in the front of my face. What did it for me is that typically, I’ll straighten my hair and my kinky curls come back throughout the day–but with this product, those curls actually stay straight! I definitely recommend this if you have thick and unruly hair.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brush #23 ($33 CAD): OK, so the price of this brush is a bit steep but I’ve literally been using this brush EVERY DAYYYY. I just feel like it gives a BAM to my highlight….who doesn’t want that?! I have especially been loving this brush with the Wet Set by Kylie Cosmetics, which I will discuss a bit later on.
KISS Ever EZ Lash ($13.99 CAD): These lashes give me LIFE. I got my first pack from Kiss*, but I now buy them at Wal-Mart! The number 11 lashes literally are sooo wearable and easy to put on and make my lashes look so fluttery! I personally like it to look like I have big, fluffy lashes and this definitely achieves that look I’m striving for. Every time I put on a different lash, it just isn’t the same as these!
Milk Makeup Blur Stick ($43 CAD): I received this Blur Stick from the lovely Dom, who is such a kind friend of mine! I’ve been loving this Blur Stick as I feel that it truly minimizes my pores and gives me more of an airbrushed look when I apply my foundation over it. It feels very smooth to the touch, making my skin feel spectacular with this as a base! I usually use it on my forehead and cheek area!
Urban Decay Velvetizer Translucent Mix-In Medium ($42 CAD): I’ve heard Tati from Glam Life Guru talk about this powder on her YouTube channel and it really got me curious. Now I haven’t actually followed the rules and mixed it in my foundation yet (lol) but I have used it as a setting powder on my face and it makes my face feel so velvety soft! I also find I don’t need to touch up during the day when I use this as it keeps me matte all day long!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Nude Bronze Light ($63 CAD): I used to use Luminous Bronze Light religiously, but over time I found it made me look a tiny bit orange…so I switched it up and got Nude Bronze Light and I am SO glad I did! This is literally my perfect bronzer. It is a bit more cool toned which I prefer in my bronzers but it still really warms up my face. I would totally recommend this bronzer if you are looking for a new one!
Cloth In A Box Face It* ($24.95 USD): This heart shaped face cloth has inserts for your hands, and wipes away any makeup and exfoliates your face at the same time….say WHAT? This was basically love at first sight for me, as I tend to want a quick and easy routine in terms of washing my face, exfoliating, etc. so this cloth really works in my favour. You get two cloths — one for the morning and one for nighttime, and you even get a little sticky hook to hang on your wall so these bad boys can dry. I use mine every day and night with my cleanser and it really has helped remove any excess makeup I may have not gotten with my initial remover.
Kylie Cosmetics Wet Set (LE): OK I’m sorry for adding in a product that is limited edition and isn’t available anymore buuuut it has been one of my favourite products *winces* I’m so sorry! I will make it short and sweet though; it basically feels like…silly putty in a way? It is soft, smooth, looks amazing on the cheeks, and is super pigmented. GAH. Ok, moving on.
Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette in Pink Sands ($59 CAD): I won’t go into too much detail as I have a full blog post here that you can visit and see swatches of Pink Sands, but just telling from the picture above–you can see how much I’ve been using it! I absolutely love this palette as it gives such an effortless healthy glow to the face.
Mermaid Brushes ($3.81 CAD): I think these mermaid brushes* are aesthetically so cute and pleasing to the eye! I haven’t used either of them yet and I’m not sure if I will, but I love featuring them in photos as well as displaying them on my not to tidy vanity. The cost of these mermaid brushes from the online store Beauty BigBang is also quite a steal, as these are super affordable! It did take a while for these brushes to ship to me, but for the price it was worth it! I have a discount code on the side of my profile as well if you are interested in purchasing something – I do not receive anything if you use the discount, it is merely just a little something for you all to benefit from! 🙂
From left to right (top to bottom):
Maybelline Vivid Hot Lacquer in Unreal ($10.99 CAD): These Vivid Hot Lacquers are certainly pigmented! These last super long on my lips and the colour is unreal! (get it, haha…). This shade is the perfect colour to wear when I don’t know which lip colour to go for, as it will go with anything! The formula of these are great and I’m definitely planning on getting more.
Dose of Colors Stone Liquid Lipstick ($18 USD): I think this is Dose of Colours most popular shade and for good reason. Stone is the perfect mauve shade that I think would be flattering on everyone. Whenever I wear this colour, I get compliments and people asking what I am wearing!
ColourPop Cosmetics Ultra Blotted Lip in Zuma ($6 USD): This nude/rose shade is PERFECT, along with the formula! These truly feel as if you are wearing nothing on your lips. Zuma is such a natural and pretty dusty rose shade that would suit anyone. If you are going to try any of the Ultra Blotted Lips, I highly recommend Zuma as your number one choice.
Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in Angelic ($23 CAD): I’m in loooove with Huda Beauty’s Lip Strobes, specifically Angelic. It is a full coverage lip gloss that is a bit peachy, a bit pinky, but nonetheless absolutely beautiful. I like wearing this on top of a liquid lipstick or even by itself, as it is very opaque.
The Brush Bar – Bar & Board ($55 USD): I’ve been absolutely obsessed with using the Brush Bar* and Brush Board* recently. The Brush Board essentially is an awesome tool to use to clean your brushes as they come in various shapes and lines to really dig deep into the bristles. I find this cleans my brushes SO much better than my hand and I totally recommend it! The Brush Bar is another tool I’ve been using to dry my brushes. These prongs come out of a board and you put your brush inside and voila, it can lay down to dry! I enjoy using this when I only have a few brushes to clean – but when I deep clean a bunch of my brushes at once, there just isn’t enough of the board to dry them all at once. If they came out with a bigger one that would be awesome, but I guess you really also need more counter space to put the Brush Bar on as well! I do admit, I enjoy drying my brushes on this bar rather than laying them flat to dry, as they can dry naturally and form back into its original shape easier.
That’s it for my favourites for the month of July! I feel like I had a lot of products…woops…hehe.
Let me know what your favourites have been so far and I’ll definitely check them out!
