I hope you are all doing well! I’m just being well…me for the moment haha. I’m trying to enjoy life as it goes, which sounds easier than it is haha.

Today I’m talking about a lavish new high end mascara that changes the wand game! The Givenchy Noir Interdit Mascara* actually has a wand that bends at a 90 degree angle, meant to get every little lash possible! It claims to have extreme length, build-able volume, resulting in a lash extension effect.

I myself am not an avid high end mascara purchaser–I tend to go for the drugstore mascaras especially if I’m going to be replacing it every three months or so! I do have one holy grail high end mascara I will purchase, which is the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara, which retails for $33 CAD. A mascara must reaaaally WOW me if I am using a high end mascara, especially one that costs $38 CAD like the Givenchy one does.

I have to admit, the 90 degree angle concept is really cool and I give major props to the creativeness of this product. Unfortunately, I did find that this mascara didn’t really lift my lashes the way I usually like and the curl was lost within half an hour or so. The 90 degree angle concept allowed me to get some lashes I typically don’t get in a mascara, but the volume just wasn’t there for me.

I did find that this mascara gave some length, but I need both length and volume to be satisfied! I also did notice that this mascara felt a tad bulky in my opinion. It feels really high class and expensive, and definitely has a fragrance to it. If you are picky with scents or sensitive, I wouldn’t go this route, but I didn’t mind it at all.

I’ve seen some people swear by this mascara which is awesome! It just wasn’t a holy grail for me to purchase it at such a high price point.
